Section 3:=20
- I suppose UL stands for Universal Label. Maybe define the acronym when =
"Universal Label" first appears.
- s/ "K L V"/"KLV"

Section 4.3.1.1:
- In the figure, "for time 30" was repeated twice.=20
- The first rule seems to be underspecified. What if seq=3D3 had a =
marker set to 1, and seq=3D4 and 5 had a marker set to 0? Both 4 and 5 =
would be considered damaged, right? So, it is not just the prior packet. =
And in this case, SHOULD must be a MUST, right? The SHOULD in the 2nd =
rule seems correct, though.
- Consider replacing "may" with an alternative like "can" or "might". =
(You might wanna consider this for any lower-case version of 2119 =
keywords)

Section 6.1:
- Put a note for RFC editor to replace RFCXXXX with this doc's RFC =
number.
- Put a "None" in optional parameters.
- Are the target applications really streaming and conferencing tools? =
Any broadcast, video transport application targeted?
- Add "IETF Payload Working Group" for further contact. Also change the =
control from AVT to PAYLOAD.
- I believe you ought to repeat the registration for video, audio and =
text as well, although you do not need them.

Section 6.2:=20
- This payload format does not have optional parameters. Actually it =
does not have anything besides the rate. Maybe, you should get the =
required text from 4855 and put it here (You don't need all the parts).=20
- You need to have a section here called "Offer-Answer Model and =
Declarative Considerations". You might not have any such considerations, =
but you need to say it explicitly. Probably something like below would =
work:

There no configuration parameters or optional format parameters for
the this payload format. Thus, when offering SMPTE 336M Encoded Data
over RTP using SDP in an Offer/Answer model [RFC3264] or in
a declarative manner (e.g., SDP in the Real-time Streaming Protocol
(RTSP) [RFC2326] or the Session Announcement Protocol (SAP)
[RFC2974]), there are no specific considerations.

(Add the related RFCs to the informative part)

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies. This draft is a work item of the Audio/Video Transport Payloads Workin=
g Group of the IETF.

Title : RTP Payload Format for MPEG-4 Audio/Visual Streams
	Author(s) : Malte Schmidt
                          Frans de Bont
                          Stefan Doehla
                          Jaehwan Kim
	Filename : draft-ietf-payload-rfc3016bis-01.txt
	Pages : 33
	Date : 2011-06-06

This document describes Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) payload
formats for carrying each of MPEG-4 Audio and MPEG-4 Visual
bitstreams without using MPEG-4 Systems. For the purpose of directly
mapping MPEG-4 Audio/Visual bitstreams onto RTP packets, it provides
specifications for the use of RTP header fields and also specifies
fragmentation rules. It also provides specifications for Media Type
registration and the use of Session Description Protocol (SDP). The
audio payload format described in this document has some limitations
related to the signaling of audio codec parameters for the required
multiplexing format. Therefore, for new system designs [RFC3640] is
preferred, which does not have these restrictions.

This document obsoletes RFC 3016. A revision of RFC 3016 was
required because of some misalignments between RFC 3016 and the 3GPP
PSS specification regarding the RTP payload format for MPEG-4 Audio.
Changes from RFC 3016 are summarized in Section 11. Issues on
backward compatibility to RFC 3016 are discussed in Section 1.3.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your review.
Please find our comments in-line.
In addition, in the registration section some changes proposed by Martin D=
=FCrst were made.
For the name of the change controller, the remark of Colin has been conside=
red and, for the moment, only the name of the WG has been updated.

The updated draft has been submitted a few minutes ago.

Best regards,
Frans

We think this is correct because we did not manage to contact the original =
3016 authors.

The changes have been described in a little more detail and a list is added=
with the changed requirements.

The abstract has been updated accordingly.

One more occurrence of "new" has been removed.

It has been made more explicit that there is no need to consider backward c=
ompatibility.

A new section titled "Clarifications on specifying codec configurations for=
MPEG-4 Audio" has been added to describe the various sampling rates and ch=
annel configurations.

As said above, this has been updated.

That paragraph has now been split into two paragraphs.

> Nits:
>
> Section 1.1, first paragraph: Why did "bitrates" get changed to
> "bitrate"?
> Section 5.2, first paragrah: "enhance layer" should be "enhanced layer"

These nits have been corrected.

        URL: http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6295.txt

This memo describes a Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) payload
format for the MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) command
language. The format encodes all commands that may legally appear on
a MIDI 1.0 DIN cable. The format is suitable for interactive
applications (such as network musical performance) and content-delivery
applications (such as file streaming). The format may be
used over unicast and multicast UDP and TCP, and it defines tools for
graceful recovery from packet loss. Stream behavior, including the
MIDI rendering method, may be customized during session setup. The
format also serves as a mode for the mpeg4-generic format, to support
the MPEG 4 Audio Object Types for General MIDI, Downloadable Sounds
Level 2, and Structured Audio. This document obsoletes RFC 4695.
[STANDARDS-TRACK]

This document is a product of the Audio/Video Transport Payloads Working Group of the IETF.

This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

The IESG has received a request from the Audio/Video Transport Payloads
WG (payload) to consider the following document:
- 'RTP Payload Format for MPEG-4 Audio/Visual Streams'
  <draft-ietf-payload-rfc3016bis-01.txt> as a Proposed Standard

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits
final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the
ietf@ietf.org mailing lists by 2011-06-22. Exceptionally, comments may be
sent to iesg@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the
beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting.

Abstract

Issues on
backward compatibility to RFC 3016 are discussed in Section 1.3.

http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-payload-rfc3016bis/

IESG discussion can be tracked via

I note that the table in Section 2.2 has not been updated as a result of
my previous comments. Just as well, I suppose, since the more I look at
the table & preceding paragraph the less sense it makes (& not just
because of the gratuitous & confusing use of synonymous phrases). For
example, why say "90 kHz timestamp"? What relevance does this have to
the actual contents of the header, which appears to be incremented in a
fixed fashion? The mention of the clock/timer frequency seems to only
be relevant for playback, but this is AFAICT never mentioned in the
draft. "32-bit 90 kHz timestamp representing the time at which the
first data in the frame was sampled." With reference to what? The
beginning of the transmission? The epoch? The beginning of the
universe? This would be useful information, as opposed to "a multiple
of the nominal interval for one DV frame time" in which the term
"multiple" adds no value whatsoever and the phrase "the nominal interval
for one DV frame time" appears to be present only to force the reader to
translate it to "Frame Rate". Finally, as specified the "timestamp"
isn't, but appears to be much more akin to a time code.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies. This draft is a work item of the Audio/Video Transport Payloads Workin=
g Group of the IETF.

Title : RTP Payload Format for Bluetooth's SBC audio codec
	Author(s) : Christian Hoene
                          Frans de Bont
	Filename : draft-ietf-payload-rtp-sbc-00.txt
	Pages : 23
	Date : 2011-06-14

This document specifies a Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) payload
format to be used for the low complexity subband codec (SBC), which
is the mandatory audio codec of the Advanced Audio Distribution
Profile (A2DP) Specification written by the Bluetooth(r) Special
Interest Group (SIG). The payload format is designed to be able to
interoperate with existing Bluetooth A2DP devices, to provide high
streaming audio quality, interactive audio transmission over the
internet, and ultra-low delay coding for jam sessions on the
internet. This document contains also a media type registration
which specifies the use of the RTP payload format.

I've uploaded a new draft (-01) that I believe addresses all the
comments. Details are below. Thank you Ali for the review.

On 6/4/2011 8:04 PM, Ali C. Begen (abegen) wrote:
> Section 3:

Fixed.

> Section 4.3.1.1:
> - In the figure, "for time 30" was repeated twice.

Duplicate removed, thanks.

> - The first rule seems to be underspecified. What if seq=3 had a marker set to 1, and seq=4 and 5 had a marker set to 0? Both 4 and 5 would be considered damaged, right? So, it is not just the prior packet. And in this case, SHOULD must be a MUST, right? The SHOULD in the 2nd rule seems correct, though.

Both rules should have been specified in terms of considering KLVunits
damaged, with supporting language to identify constituent packets of
those damaged units, but that first rule was rather confusing as
written. I reworded this entirely to better reflect what it was
attempting to say.

> - Consider replacing "may" with an alternative like "can" or "might". (You might wanna consider this for any lower-case version of 2119 keywords)

Went through and looked for these, replaced per your suggestion. Some
of these remain (particularly "may") but these are in the template texts
from the howto so I left them as-is.

> Section 6.1:
> - Put a note for RFC editor to replace RFCXXXX with this doc's RFC number.
> - Put a "None" in optional parameters.

Both done.

> - Are the target applications really streaming and conferencing tools? Any broadcast, video transport application targeted?

Updated with some new applications.

> - Add "IETF Payload Working Group" for further contact. Also change the control from AVT to PAYLOAD.

Done.

> - I believe you ought to repeat the registration for video, audio and text as well, although you do not need them.

I wasn't sure what you meant here - if further changes are required
please let me know and I'll be glad to address.

> Section 6.2:
> - This payload format does not have optional parameters. Actually it does not have anything besides the rate. Maybe, you should get the required text from 4855 and put it here (You don't need all the parts).
> - You need to have a section here called "Offer-Answer Model and Declarative Considerations". You might not have any such considerations, but you need to say it explicitly. Probably something like below would work:

I think I addressed this in the draft based on a combination of the
howto instructions and your comments - take a look and let me know if it
is ok.

Thanks again for your review,

Hi,

At the IETF 81 we will have one time slot for AVTCore and we will use this
timeslot also to present the status of the payload and xrblock working
groups for information.

As we announced on the mailing lists, the payload and xrblocks WGs are not
going to meet in Quebec but we may present open issues if there are any.

If you wish to have agenda time at the upcoming meeting in Quebec City
regarding AVTcore work, please send an agenda request to the AVTcore chairs.
We are trying to prepare the agenda early and not wait for the last minute.

We will use the time for presentations giving priority based on the AVTCore
milestones and open issues.

The draft agenda shows that AVTCore will meet on Wednesday 09:00-11:30 in
room 208 AB.

Note that this is not the final agenda and the slot for AVTcore may change,
the final agenda will be publish on July 1st.

Thanks
Magnus Westerlund and Roni Even AVTCore Chairs.

Ali Begen and Roni Even Payload Chairs

Peter Musgrave and Roni Even XRblock Chairs.

Re: (Below thread) "please send an agenda request to the AVTcore chairs"

=20

Magnus/Roni,

=20

As per the recommendation of the Payload Chairs, Ali Begen and Roni
Even, I have created a "00" draft for the RTP payload format for ITU-T
G.711.0 (lossless and stateless compression of G.711,
http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ramalho-payload-g7110/ ).

=20

Via experience I have found that there is often confusion about G.711.0
- as it is essentially a data compression algorithm. When negotiated
end-to-end, it is negotiated as IF it were a traditional lossy codec.
However, it can also be employed as a lossless data compression for
G.711 payloads in the middle of G.711 negotiated sessions.

=20

Thus, it might be beneficial for me to say a few words about the G.711.0
draft if there is sufficient interest.

=20

If you believe a short presentation would be beneficial, then I would
request a few minutes at the AVTcore agenda to describe the G.711.0
draft.

=20

Please advise.

=20

Regards,

=20

Michael Ramalho

Subject: [AVTCORE] Requests for agenda time in Quebec City IETF81

=20

Hi,

At the IETF 81 we will have one time slot for AVTCore and we will use
this timeslot also to present the status of the payload and xrblock
working groups for information.

=20

As we announced on the mailing lists, the payload and xrblocks WGs are
not going to meet in Quebec but we may present open issues if there are
any.

=20

=20

If you wish to have agenda time at the upcoming meeting in Quebec City
regarding AVTcore work, please send an agenda request to the AVTcore
chairs. We are trying to prepare the agenda early and not wait for the
last minute.

=20

=20

We will use the time for pre sentatio on the AVTCore milestones and open
issues.=20

=20

=20

The draft agenda shows that AVTCore will meet on Wednesday 09:00-11:30
in room 208 AB.=20

=20

Note that this is not the final agenda and the slot for AVTcore may
change, the final agenda will be publish on July 1st.

Hi Michael,

We will consider your request based on time available. I also think it will
be good to post this information to the payload list with a title like
"G.711.0 a data compression payload" or G.711.0 an audio data compression
payload"

Regards

Roni

Subject: RE: [AVTCORE] Requests for agenda time in Quebec City IETF81

Re: (Below thread) "please send an agenda request to the AVTcore chairs"

Magnus/Roni,

As per the recommendation of the Payload Chairs, Ali Begen and Roni Even, I
have created a "00" draft for the RTP payload format for ITU-T G.711.0
(lossless and stateless compression of G.711,
http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ramalho-payload-g7110/ ).

Via experience I have found that there is often confusion about G.711.0 - as
it is essentially a data compression algorithm. When negotiated end-to-end,
it is negotiated as IF it were a traditional lossy codec. However, it can
also be employed as a lossless data compression for G.711 payloads in the
middle of G.711 negotiated sessions.

Thus, it might be beneficial for me to say a few words about the G.711.0
draft if there is sufficient interest.

If you believe a short presentation would be beneficial, then I would
request a few minutes at the AVTcore agenda to describe the G.711.0 draft.

Please advise.

Regards,

Michael Ramalho

Subject: [AVTCORE] Requests for agenda time in Quebec City IETF81

We will use the time for pre sentatio on the AVTCore milestones and open
issues.
